Alpha Co.* required an entity that could marshal its people, process and passion for food and entertainment. The challenge was to create an entity that would become a beacon of enduring growth for franchisees and master brands alike. It required a structure that support not only these key stakeholders, but also act as a blueprint for on-boarding top talent and retaining them with an employee experience that was differentiated and rewarding.

The CEO had a vision for his organization to grow into a large Group with an extensive portfolio, understanding the need to have a master plan and a structure to achieve this, Alpha Co.* engaged Monter to develop a strategy and a platform that would support the ambitions.

Alpha Co.* required a structure that supports key stakeholders, and acts as a blueprint for onboarding top talent and retaining them with an employee experience that was differentiated and rewarding.

THE PROBLEMS AND CHALLENGES

  • Non-existent Structure and System
    produced an organization which was poorly defined, directionless, running suboptimally, plagued with erratic performance, and failing to reach targets.
  • Undefined Culture and Values
    Employees did not share leadership’s Vision, Goals and Objectives did not translate down well and met with high resistance, there were no guiding principles which promote the right behaviours, thinking, values, and performance.
  • Declining Productivity and Unmotivated staff
    Operational excellence were absent, there were chasms within departments and also inter-departments – no synergy and collaboration, no unified view of issues and how to solve them, no standardized way to design and implement effective programs.
  • There was no Overarching Strategy
    to realize ambitions. Without a clearly defined execution plan and direction, sustained revenue growth could not be attained.
  • Decision Making, Planning, Goals and Objectives Setting had been made with ‘gut feeling’

    New opportunities must be evaluated thoroughly based on outcomes, following data-driven analysis. Once identified, Objectives and Goals have to serve the vision of the organization with assertion on clarity and well-defined direction.
  • Mapping Competitive Landscape
    as a group, owner of master franchises and for each individual brand in the portfolio. Identify other players in the market, how to outmanoeuvre competitors, how to anticipate emerging threats, and how to be the market leader.
  • Master Strategy Formulation
    consisting of Corporate Strategy and Business Unit Strategy – Steering the organization as a whole towards target, optimally allocating resources across different business units, and detailed plans for each of the division to bring winnings to its brand and to create value.

  • Formation of Growth strategy to achieve sustained and fully optimized growth trajectory – Prioritizing performing brands in portfolio and divestment in underperforming entities, evaluating new market opportunities, creating result oriented action plans and clearly defined path to capture new opportunities.
